I ragazzi del juke box - The Juke Box Kids

La felicità costa un gettone
Per i ragazzi del juke box
La gioventù, la gioventù
La compra per cinquanta lire
E nulla di più

Basta un dolce blues é una canzone
Per i ragazzi del juke box
Ballando qua, ballando là
Ognuno trova la sua gran felicità

Dai, dai, dai, gira con me
Dai, dai, dai, stringimi a te
Con ardore, con furore
Baciami, baciami, baciami

La felicità costa un gettone
Per i ragazzi del juke box
La gioventù, la gioventù
La compra per cinquanta lire
E nulla di più

Dai, dai, dai, gira con me
Dai, dai, dai, stringimi a te
Con ardore, con furore
Baciami, baciami, baciami

La felicità costa un gettone
Per i ragazzi del juke box
La gioventù, la gioventù
La compra per cinquanta lire
E nulla di più

In un gettone
C'è l'ossessione
C'è l'ossessione
Dei ragazzi del juke box

I ragazzi del juke box © 1959 Lyrics: Enzo Bonagura, Ugo Pirro; Music: Eros Sciorilli

"I ragazzi del juke box" was the title song in the film I ragazzi del juke box (The Juke Box Kids), one of the first of the musicarello sub-genre, which targeted youth audiences with songs by young singers.

Happiness costs a token
for the juke box kids.
Young people, young people,
you buy it for fifty lira
and nothing more.

A blues will do, it’s a song
for the juke box kids.
Dancing here, dancing there,
each one finds his great happiness.

C’mon, c’mon, c’mon, roll with me,
c’mon, c’mon, c’mon, hold me tight.
With ardor, with fury,
kiss me, kiss me, kiss me.

Happiness costs a token
for the juke box kids.
Young people, young people,
you buy it for fifty lira
and nothing more.

C’mon, c’mon, c’mon, roll with me,
c’mon, c’mon, c’mon, hold me tight.
With ardor, with fury,
kiss me, kiss me, kiss me.

Happiness costs a token
for the juke box kids.
Young people, young people,
you buy it for fifty lira
and nothing more.

In a token,
there’s the obsession,
there’s the obsession
of the juke box kids.

Furore was Celentano's second album, released at the end of 1960 just before he went into military service. The album is mostly a collection of previously released singles, with arrangements and backing again by Giulio Libano and his orchestra.
